Are you passionate about science, environmental safety, and hands-on lab work? Join our team as a Lab Technician and play a critical role in ensuring clean, safe water for our communities. In this role, you’ll conduct essential laboratory testing, support compliance with environmental regulations, and help protect public health every day.

What You’ll Do

As a Lab Technician, you’ll perform a variety of chemical, physical, and bacteriological analyses on water, wastewater, and industrial samples. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

You will:

  • Perform laboratory testing such as BOD, COD, pH, chlorine residuals, turbidity, coliform testing, and more
  • Analyze and interpret results while ensuring accuracy and quality control
  • Maintain detailed records including lab results, calibrations, maintenance logs, and chain of custody documentation
  • Prepare reagents and manage chemical inventory
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure reliable performance
  • Support state certification requirements through proper documentation and quality practices
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a safe, compliant work environment

What You Bring

  • We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn.
    Required:
  • High school diploma or GED (coursework in chemistry, biology, or math preferred)
    Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends and on-call shifts
  • Possess or obtain Water/Wastewater Lab Analyst Certification within 1 year

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with lab techniques and water testing methods
  • Experience with lab equipment such as spectrometers, pH meters, incubators, and analytical balances
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and climbing
  • Capable of working in confined spaces and handling lab/field equipment
