Industrial Electrician – Journeyman
Location: Hampton, VA
Pay: $34.00–$45.00/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time; Local work – no overnight travel required
License: Journeyman Electrician License/Card required
Inframark is hiring an experienced Industrial Electrician – Journeyman to support electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair at water and wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations in the Hampton, VA area.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced industrial electrician who is comfortable working with motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), conduits, electrical panels, motor controls, and industrial equipment.
You'll work closely with our Instrumentation & Controls team to keep critical water and wastewater infrastructure operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. Water/wastewater experience is a plus but not required. Industrial electricians from manufacturing, utilities, industrial service, commercial/industrial construction, and other industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
As an Industrial Electrician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment supporting water and wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations.
Responsibilities include:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems
- Install and terminate conduit, wiring, electrical panels, MCCs, VFDs, and related equipment
- Bend and install rigid conduit
- Perform electrical installation, equipment connections, and rough-in work
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and plans
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, equipment, motor controls, and control systems
- Diagnose electrical problems and perform repairs safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot and maintain MCCs, VFDs, motors, pumps, control panels, and related equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance
- Work with Instrumentation & Controls technicians on electrical and control-system issues
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems at water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations
- Identify potential electrical problems and recommend corrective action
- Use electrical testing equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities
- Follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements
- Properly use PPE and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work independently while also collaborating with a small field team
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician card/license or equivalent state-recognized credential
- Experience with industrial electrical systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience installing and bending rigid conduit
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with electrical panels, motor controls, and industrial equipment
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely work in an industrial environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to safely use standard electrical hand tools and testing equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience
- Experience with motor control centers (MCCs)
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems
- Experience with motors, pumps, starters, contactors, and control circuits
- Experience troubleshooting electrical controls and instrumentation
- Previous water/wastewater treatment or pump station experience
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Manufacturing or utility electrical experience
- Commercial/industrial electrical construction experience
- OSHA or other electrical safety training
